The first psychiatrist wasn't a good fit for me, and they were able to help me find the right person without hassle. My therapist has helped me tremendously, not only with processing and implementing skills but with ALWAYS being there for me. Both of my providers listen and give feedback, they ask valuable questions. Most importantly, my mental health and whole life have stabilized with their help and expertise. “I'm a veteran. I served 8.5 years in the military. I grew up with lots of things that have caused me chronic post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and clinical depression. My whole life I seriously thought I was stupid. I'm not joking. I had learning disabilities my whole life. Anyways I decided since I have been on so many different medications in my life that worked at first but eventually stopped working for me, I would try a different type of treatment. I decided I wanted to try Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). I was referred to have my treatment at Family care center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. From the moment you walk in the door at Family care center people are so nice to you and treat you with great care. The TMS techs are so very nice. Some times I would move and the magnets wouldn't be in the proper spot. (You will understand better if you decide to have the treatment.) I would tell the tech I'm so sorry I moved and I think the magnet is now in the wrong spot. They would just fix it no problem and tell me it happens all the time, Don't worry about it. I met with one of the Psychiatrist at family care center. A few times while there. She discovered I actually have ADHD along with my other diagnosis. She started me on treatment for it. She thinks the ADHD has been one of my biggest problems since I was a kid. I also started the TMS treatment at the same time. I feel like a different person now then I ever have on any of the other types of medications or therpy I have received. I can think more clearer. I start conversations with people because I'm more comfortable doing it. I don't think everyone would be better off with out me as much as I use to. I'm not as angry all the time as I use to be. There quite a few things these treatment have helped me with.”
